Are You Ignorant?

Blog post image

Yikes! That question sounds kind of rude, doesn’t it? Please Note: Before, you take it the wrong way, read on to be sure you know the TRUE definition of the word. It’s a very important word and underlying CAUSE of many Americans’ Weight Loss War!

In our last blog, we shared stats and eye-opening measures regarding serious diseases, conditions and even causes of death related to over-weight issues. 50% to be exact. Reality checks were shared from very reputable sources. And yet, despite SCIENCE POINTING THOSE THINGS OUT, the trends continue to go in the wrong direction when it comes to the over-weight and obesity epidemic in America.

We fully acknowledge and understand that ACCEPTANCE OF OUR BODIES is an important thing. We routinely attempt to clarify that what we do is NOT about beauty, vanity or trying to keep up with the materialistic and image driven society we live in. At the same time, we have GOT to be honest with ourselves as a country and a culture. The trend of continuing to lessen the quality of our lives and reduce the number of years must be changed.

Maybe you are like so many other people out there … confused, overwhelmed and downright frustrated when it comes to conquering the fat loss feud. The struggle IS real. For most, it’s not a matter of wanting or knowing you need to lose weight. The vast majority have certainly heard the stats shred in our last blog over and over.

Most of those struggling with a weight challenge do understand the “WHY”.
So, in truth, it’s really is about the “HOW”.

Now, back to that word in the title of this blog that may have irritated you when you read it. Ignorance. Since it’s often misunderstood and taken incorrectly, we’re going to first share the TRUE definition in order to best address it. In its truest sense, IGNORANCE means this:

  • A lack of knowledge, understanding or education.
  • Synonyms for this word are incomprehension of, unawareness of, unconsciousness of, unfamiliarity with, inexperience with, lack of knowledge about, lack of information about

That’s taken right from the dictionary! Be sure to know: we are NOT referencing the word “stupid” or “dumb”. That’s a whole different thing. But, for whatever reason, the word ignorance is often a little offensive. It really shouldn’t be. Especially not as we are using it here.

It is our belief that the staggering statistics we have shared about Americans being overweight and obese is truly due to IGNORANCE about the matter. NOT ignorant about the fact that you may be overweight or obese … but ignorant as to WHY you find yourself there … or ignorant about HOW you can really change that situation for yourself or someone you care about.

Take note of the words underlined in the statements below (and which were in the dictionary definition):

  • People really are unaware. They simply don’t know. They have no idea about the REAL and proven “how to” aspects of healthy and lasting weight loss.
  • Most people are inexperienced with successful strategies – despite typically having tried many different approaches and programs.
  • And they simply lack information.

The little quote below is very fitting for this conversation ….

That’s a pretty good point about happiness. The same is true for what we are sharing about here.

Ignorance is NOT bliss when it comes to weight loss.

Ignorance on this topic creates stress. Ignorance creates frustration. And as we pointed out in the last blog, ignorance is clearly causing disease and death.

In order to solve the “Health Care Crisis” for our country … and in order to simplify weight loss for YOU as an individual … you may need to move to a different level of understanding and awareness. Don’t live ignorance! (Keep in mind what the true definition of that word is.)

Americans are in desperate need of a real, long-term weight loss solution based upon science that empowers them to TAKE BACK CONTROL of their weight and their wellness once and for all.

There really are science-based secrets to help you start that process. Stay tuned and we will share some of those in upcoming weeks in this blog.
